Smart Power Control for Resilient Communication

A communication system is useful only while the devices participating in it still have power. Rez-Mesh therefore treats energy use as part of communication resilience rather than as an unrelated phone setting.

Power states change communication activity

Rez-Mesh defines Emergency, Active, Balanced, Power Saver, Minimal, Hibernation and Dead states. These states represent different priorities between responsiveness and energy preservation.

Radio behavior becomes more conservative

As the system moves toward lower-power states, scanning and other communication activity become less frequent. The goal is not to make the product “worse”; it is to spend less energy when continuous activity is less important.

Emergency is a priority state

Emergency is not simply another point on a descending battery scale. It is a deliberate high-priority state intended for moments when communication urgency outweighs normal conservation behavior.

What changes in practice

The implemented power model controls behaviors including BLE scan timing, advertising availability, Wi‑Fi Direct availability and routing-update frequency. Android-side behavior can also respond to the selected power state.

Rez-Mesh — Spend energy when communication matters. Conserve it when survival time matters.
